Day 82: Thursday, June 30, 2011

40 miles from Colter Bay Village, Teton National Park to Grant Village, Yellowstone National Park, WY
The Grand Tetons are dramatically spectacular, but Yellowstone is, as Vincent put it, crazy beautiful.  We had a spectacular ride today.  And we saw a fair amount of wild life.  I had been a bit worried about encountering a bear while riding since I carry the food in the panniers.  Turns out that 1) there were so many people taking photos and 2) the bear had no interest in any of the people that I didn’t really need to worry.  There is breathtaking scenery every 5 seconds, so taking pictures becomes a bit unrealistic.  Furthermore, as I have said before, the pictures don’t even come close to capturing the beauty of this place.
Of note, Bob and Vincent are finally having as much fun as I am!!  This part of the country is absolutely awesome.
We are going to stay here 3 nights and take some time to hike and absorb the beauty.

Close encounter with Ursus arctos horribilis

After climbing for several miles

View from the road, it was a little scary
