Day 14: Friday, September 27, 2013

34 miles from Onslow Beach RV Camp at Camp LeJeune to Lanier’s Campground, Surf City, NC.  We have been blessed with beautiful weather for the most part.  We had a stunning, short ride today and the wind was with us again. We can only hope it continues.  There are seafood markets everywhere and while we couldn’t purchase anything we stopped at one just to savor the sights and smells. There were incredible views from the bridges we crossed.  Unfortnately, we couldn’t stop to take photos so we can’t share.  We rode into camp early and Donna’s friend, Annie, came by to visit for several hours.  It was delightful meeting and speaking with her.  She gave us some pointers for riding through Wilmington and mentioned several great places to eat.  Hopefully, we will at least get to Britt’s Donuts in Carolina Beach, NC, which she says puts hot Krispy Kremes to shame.  These I would love to try.

See that flag! It's blowing in the direction we were cycling.

Surf City... Here we come!
