42 miles from Sea Level, NC to Newport, NC library. Another
beautiful day of bicycling. We are
heading out of the barrier island area and back to mainland NC. The vegetation is changing and we are having
a few more hills, but still fairly flat.
The route has been pretty well marked, but we were a bit baffled when we
couldn’t find the name of one of the roads.
Donna finally noticed that the route number is displayed on the
post. We are at the library in Newport,
NC which has really good WIFI. Finally,
a chance to catch up on postings. We are
staying at the Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station tonight. Bob has checked in and the woman at the desk
is from Chesapeake Beach, MD. It will be
interesting to see if Donna knows her. And
in the small world category, we met a couple from Sandy Spring, MD yesterday. They lived there decades ago and remember
Olney before it became the huge city it is today.
